Stage Raw:
"The play dives deeply into the more complicated aspects of forming and staying in a relationship, including recognizing and seizing your moment for love, and understanding each other’s shortcomings."

Discover Hollywood:
"TALLEY'S FOLLY ....is a beautifully acted 40's period piece that tells the tale of two mismatched people who just might be right for each other after all. A touching, funny and poignant story in a dreamy setting."

Splash Magazine:
"Bright Eyes Productions has taken a play written over 30 years ago and tenderly presents it to today’s audience, in keeping with their mission of re-introducing oldie-but-goodie treasures to contemporary theater-goers. With finesse and charm, they meet their goal – and then some – in TALLEY’S FOLLY."

the New York Times:
"...Mr. Wilson is one of our most gifted playwrights, a dramatist who deals perceptively with definably American themes...he introduces us to two wonderful people, humanizing and warming them with the radiance of his abundant talent. TALLEY'S FOLLY is a play to savor and cheer."

the New York Post:
"It is perhaps the simplest, the most lyrical play Wilson has written--a funny, sweet, touching and marvelously written and contrived love poem for an apple and an orange."

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award. Set in a deserted Victorian boathouse (a "folly") in Lebanon, Missouri in 1944, Matt Friedman has arrived to plead his love to Sally Talley, the susceptible but uncertain daughter of the Talley family. Telling his innermost secrets and in return, learning hers, Matt gradually awakens Sally to the possibilities of a life together, two kindred spirits who, in their union, will find a wholeness rare in human relationships
