About the Original Elephant Theatre Production:

Backstage West - Critic Pick
"Will Kern's play is thoughtful, funny, and touching to begin with, but David Fofi's strong direction and an excellent ensemble make it a must-see. Hellcab is a hilarious, boisterous, moving show. Catch a ride.”

ReviewPlays.com - Recommended
"The whole show whizzes by in a little over 90 minutes, with 15 actors who create these 32 iconic characters. A sympathetic cab driver who is just trying to make a living has to put up with all these personality quirks and divas in the space of one day. This is the kind of ride that you will enjoy taking but better hurry as the closing day is December 18th."

STAGE SCENE LA - Recommended
"...Though neither you nor I would likely ever want to trade places with anyone seated inside Will Kern’s Hellcab, the couple dozen fares we get to experience from the safety of our theater seats add up to one hell of a fun ride."

US Veterans Artists Alliance and the Elephant Theatre Company are pleased to announce the return of “HELLCAB”, at The USVAA Theatre. The Critic’s Choice Holiday favorite, by Will Kern, will be directed by David Fofi.

HELLCAB is a collection of scenes from a day in the life of a Chicago cabbie, just a few days before Christmas . Written with darkly humorous realism by Will Kern, this is a fast-paced, entertaining and gritty look at nightlife in the big city. Seen through the eyes of a Chicago cab driver, we meet a wide variety of offbeat characters, as each flag down his cab during the Holidays .In 80 fleeting minutes, we experience 20 different vignettes, situations and wacky stories flying at this sympathetic and kindly cabbie.
