Directed by Mark Belnick

Wendy Kesselman’s transcendently powerful adaptation of the iconic, impassioned story of 8 Dutch Jews- including the truly unique, incomparable Anne – hiding from the Nazis in a cramped Amsterdam storage attic, thrown together by horrific circumstance with little to no privacy, few belongings, and no world but the attic.

This adaptation of DIARY received unanimous raves when published and when first performed, on Broadway, with Natalie Portman as Anne, in the late ‘90’s.

The NYTimes said, “Undeniably moving. It shatters the heart. The evening never lets us forget the inhuman darkness waiting to claim its incandescently human heroine.” The NYPost, “An extraordinary theatrical adventure! Go and remember.” The NYDaily News, “…new DIARY is chillingly honest about the Holocaust. Wendy Kesselman’s work has restored the terror.” AP, “A powerful new version that moves the audience to gasp, then tears.” And NY Newsday, “Wendy Kesselman’s finely textured new DIARY tells a deeper story. A sensitive, stirring and thoroughly engaging new adaptation.” WTV is privileged to present it – 80 years after The Beast came to power in Germany.
