In February
2006, my brand new non-profit production company,
The Lyric Theatre Foundation, embarked on its first show,
I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change, opening
at the Hudson Mainstage in Hollywood.
We are actors, singers
and directors and we were clueless. Thank goodness for
Plays411 and its experienced, knowledgeable,
hard working and caring staff.
They set up a reservation
system consisting of our own website, which they designed,
and our own phone number,
recording the greeting and instructions and alerting
callers to sold out performances,
discounts and comps. They got our insurance, they printed
our postcard and did a target mailing of 1,000, did the
design and printing of
our program, printed and laminated our marquee, ordered
print and online ads and got reviewers to the show.
They
solved problems we created and patiently walked us through
every step. Thanks in large part to Plays411,
we were near capacity or sold out for most of our performances.
